July 24th Parade

Bountiful held a parade in celebration of Pioneer Day on July 23rd. Jeremy was working late, so I took Carrigan and the boys to the parade with my mom, sister, and brother. They had a great time! The boys were given some guitars, and every time a float came by that had music playing, they would pick up their guitars and rock out!

Go Braves!

Sorry it's fuzzy, but the pipe bands are always my favorites, and this one inparticular is a favorite because that first bagpiper is my high school calculus teacher, Mr. Morrill.

I love soccer! I have only had the chance to go to one Real game so far, but it was awesome! I wish I still played!

This is our stake's float. It won the highest award in the Days of 47 parade. Jeremy's all proud about it because he helped put it together.

Happy Anniversary!

We celebrated our 7 year anniversary on July 19th. We went out to dinner and a movie (that's about as exciting as it gets when you've got kids waiting at home), but I didn't get any pictures, so I'm posting some of our wedding pictures instead. It was lots of fun looking back and remembering what a special and sacred day it was 7 years ago!

Just exiting the temple as a married couple!

Traumatic!

So, my boys were innocently playing in grandma's backyard when I hear them screaming "Leave us alone! Leave us alone!" At first I thought they were just fighting with eachother, but when I went out to investigate, I found the two of them perched atop a box behind the garage with tons of wasps swarming around them! I totally freaked. After pulling them down and running them into the house, we found two stings on Jackson and a whopping five on little Thorin! I was horrified, probably more than they were, and we were all bawling. Jeremy had to tease me about over-reacting because it took me longer to calm down from this incident than it did for the boys.

The offender

Jackson's first sting on his front upper thigh.

His second sting on the ring finger knuckle (it's hard to see in the pic, and we didn't have a band-aid that would stay on).

Thorin's sting over his left eye. You can see it's red and puffy.

Two more on his right arm a little above the wrist. You can see the two raised whitish bumps right next to eachother.

Another one on his inner thigh.

And the last one on his left arm.

Here's the box they had crawled on top of. It's a rubbermaid shed waiting to be assembled. You can see the wet spot on the box next to the water drum on the right. There's a hole in the box there, and that's where the nest was. Jeremy promptly went out and destroyed the nest and all offenders flying around. Nobody messes with his boys!

Scottish Festival

Jeremy, Carrigan, and I were able to go to the Scottish Festival in Payson on the 11th. Jackson and Thorin weren't with us. They were camping with grandma, so we decided to take Carrigan out on her first big day away from home (and grandma's house).
Here is the crest and motto for my clan. I am related to the McLachlan's through my dad's family (obviously, since it's my maiden name!).
We bought Jackson a t-shirt, but it worked well as a throw for Carrigan.
This is the booth for Jeremy's clan, the Macphersons. He is related to them through his mother's side of the family. (Photo taken at festival last year)

Sons of Scotland Unite! We love going to the Scottish Festival because this t-shirt describes the general feeling you get there. Although most people are far removed from their scottish roots, they still fiercely cling to them, and they're proud of it. We feel the same way! (Photo taken last year)

This is the Payson High Pipe Band. We arrived at the festival too late for the massing of the bands (my favorite part), but I did at least get to hear smaller groups here and there practicing for later on.

Carrigan's Blessing

We blessed Carrigan on Sunday, July 5th. She was 3 weeks old, and she was wearing the dress that I was blessed in, made by my mother. We had lots of support from family and friends, and we're so grateful to all that came!
This is Carrigan with her cousins, Alyssa and Kaci. They are wearing dresses made by Great Grandma Harenberg (we call her GG).

Jackson is wonderful at holding his sister, and he's so good at making her happy.

This is Grandma, who made baby Carrigan's dress almost 27 years ago!

Four generations of women. My mom, Carrigan, my grandma, and me.

We had to let daddy in!

Cousins, Emma and Jared, were so sweet with her!
Aunt Leslie had to get in some cuddle time before heading back home to Ely.

Entertaining guests is a lot of work. It tuckered daddy right out!

Our sweet baby girl

Daddy and baby in the hospital.

Arriving home. She was so tiny in the car seat, and her dress was drowning her! It's easy to forget how tiny they are at the beginning.

Napping in the crib with the beautiful blanket Great Grandma Satchwell made. Thank you Great Grandma!
