Not for the first time, it seems I have neglected the blog! I haven't even put up the Halloween post yet, but not to worry! It's a project I hope to be tackling before Christmas gets here. I just had to do a quick post to share my excitement with everybody.....Thorin is now completely potty trained! He's been using the potty for the last several months, but it was just a few days ago that we took him out of his pull-ups and into "real big boy undies." You can't imagine my relief at having only one child now in diapers (to all you mothers out there-I know you understand), especially since we've been waiting for this for so long!! What a wonderful Christmas present!

An Evening Out

We had the chance to see Hale Center Theatre's production of The Scarlet Pimpernel a few weeks ago. I bought the tickets a whole year in advance. That's how excited I was to see this. I had always loved the movie, and had the chance to see it on broadway in L.A. on my senior year choir trip. Needless to say, I LOVED it...and Jeremy liked it to.

Labor Day Weekend

Jeremy's mom and Bob flew in last Wednesday night and stayed through the weekend until Monday. We had fun seeing them. It was their first time seeing little Carrigan, who took to her Grandma immediately!

We spent Friday night at our condo in Jeremy Ranch where Addi was the perfect little mommy to Carrigan. She even helped give her a bath.

On Saturday night, we were able to go to Jake's improv show at the Empress theater in Magna. He and his troop are hilarious! Good job Jake!

We took a nice Sunday drive to Cascade Springs. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the stream.

First Day of School

Jackson's first day of Kindergarten was on August 31st. He said he wasn't very excited because he went to school last year, but he was happy that his cousin, Ronan, is in his class with him.

We got Jackson a new backpack this year, so Thorin had to get one too. He wears it every day so he can be just like Jackson.

To celebrate surviving the first day, we had a picnic lunch at one of our favorite parks.

Willow Park

On Tuesday, we took my sister, Liana, to Logan where she's starting college at USU. On the way home, we stopped at Willow Park to walk through their little zoo and play on the playground.

Jackson loved this big twisty slide. It's the only thing he played on at the playground.

We don't know who this little girl is, but she sure liked Thorin. She carried him all around and went down the slides with him. Thorin, who's usually pretty shy, didn't mind at all!

Carrigan and I got to relax in the shade for a bit. This little girl has crazy hair that love to stick up at all angles.

Family Reunion

On August 14th and 15th we had our annual Burton K. Satchwell family reunion. On day one we had a BBQ and games.

After playing our games, my grandma and grandpa got to share their testimonies and words of wisdom with us.

For day two, we played games and watched a movie on the big screen in Lincoln Elementary's gym.

This clip shows a game where there are two circles walking opposite directions. One partner is in each circle, and when the music stops you have to find your partner and sit down. The last partnership down is out.

Two months old!

Carrigan had her two month check-up on August 13th. She was 7 lbs 5 ozs and 20 inches long at birth, and she now is 11 lbs 3 ozs and 23 inches long.

She has a cute smile, and now that she's figured out how, she smiles all the time. What a sweet little girl!

Happy Birthdays!

Thorin turned 3 on August 4th and Ian turned 17 on August 9th. We gave them a combined celebration on August 10th. I can't believe Thorin's getting so old! I love watching him grow and learn, and I just know he's going to be an amazing man when he grows up.

Thorin picked his own cake. He's a boy after my own heart...he picked straight chocolate. Of course the frosting is that irresistable kind with the chewy rainbow chips.

Ian, the non-conformist, had a chocolate silk pie instead of cake. Thorin just had to make sure he got all his candles out.

I about died when I found this Aggie shirt at Wal-Mart, so I just had to get it. It's easy to find UofU or BYU stuff, but you rarely see USU. Go Aggies!

It was a struggle to potty train Jackson, and we were hoping Thorin would be much easier, especially with his big brother's example, but of course we aren't so lucky. Thorin is a die-hard Cars fan, so we hope this potty seat motivates him to use the potty!
